Oct. 11, 1943 – Dec. 23, 2013James ‘Jim’ Stinnette of Bend, OR, passed away on December 23, 2013, at the age of 70. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born to Burnice and Ettrick Stinnette in Salem, OR. In 1963, Jim married Carolyn Royse, his high school sweetheart.He started his career in the bicycle business at the young age of 13. He went on to have a rewarding and successful career owning bicycle shops in Medford, Roseburg, and Portland, OR. Jim retired in 1996, due to a heart condition, but that didn’t stop him from continuing to work on bicycles and many other projects over the years.He is survived by his loving family and many friends: Carolyn, his wife of 50 years; daughter, Beckie (Troy) of Bend; son, Mark of IN; granddaughters, Isabelle and Sydney, both of Bend.A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.Donations can be made to the Oregon Heart Association, 4380 SW Macadam Avenue #480, Portland, OR 97239.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.deschutesmemorialchapel.com.Jim Stinnette
