College Notes

The following local students were named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at University of Portland: Amber Schlossmacher, Austin Curry, Claire Seibold, Jordan Zettle, Noel Chen, Peter Schwarz, Rebecca Bahrman, Sara Andre, Stephen Drgastin, William Gunnels, Yvonne Hollett, Lauren White, Beth Halderman and Brandon Morgan.

Alexa Wynschenk, of Bend, was named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H.

Juliana Elliott and Katie Kruse, both of Bend, were named to the fall 2013 dean’s honor roll at Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Megan Fristoe and Sara Fristoe, both of Bend, were named to the fall 2013 honor roll at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Wash.

Dylan Blackhorse-von Jess, of Bend, Megan Brown, of Madras and Kirstin Town, of La Pine, were named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Wash.

Teen Feats

Zachary Barry has been named February’s High Desert Hero by The Center Foundation of Bend. Barry, a senior at Summit High School, has a 4.17 GPA. He is a member of the water polo and swim team and also participates in band and Ultimate Frisbee. He is also a member of National Honor Society, Japanese National Honor Society and has a bi-weekly radio show on KPOV.
