The owner of Pakit Liquidators announced Monday that he is closing the longtime Bend business.
In a post on Facebook, owner Matt Korish said he will be “liquidating most things” at the famously cluttered home-improvement resale yard over the next month, and that the property, at 903 S.E. Armour Road near the intersection of Ninth Street and Wilson Avenue on Bend’s east side, is on the market.
“Thank you to all of you for years of support,” Korish wrote. “Hopefully the positive vibes that have been happening here will continue on with the new owners! Everything must go!”
For years, Pakit has been an eclectic source of mostly used building materials, while also serving as a favorite treasure-hunting spot for local artists. Last summer, Korish oversaw a major cleanup of the property to make room for the 2013 Bend Roots Revival, a three-day music festival held each September.
Over the winter, Pakit hosted several concerts inside its main building, and earlier this month, Korish described his vision for the property as “a marketplace pairing for-profit companies and nonprofit companies” that also hosts concerts.
