Mr. Central Oregon pageant coming up

The Center Foundation’s Student Advisory Council is hosting a brand new event, Mr. Central Oregon. This good-natured contest will pit the male student winners of other local high school pageants against one another. Representatives are expected from six local high schools.
The event will include a talent show and competition, hosted by a local radio personality. The winner of the event will receive $500 scholarship, second place will get $250 scholarship and third place will receive a $50 gift card for school supplies.
Funds raised from the event will go toward setting up a $1,500 scholarship, which will be awarded next spring. If the event generates more than $1,500, the additional funds will go toward helping pay for trainers in the local high schools. The Mr. Central Oregon event was the brainchild of the Student Advisory Council, a 10-member panel of students from high schools throughout the region.
Mr. Central Oregon will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. May 27 at Bend High School Auditorium. Cost is $7 adults, $5 students. Tickets are available at the door or at www.centerfoundation.org.
