- Smoke rises from the Two Bulls Fire as it burns west of NorthWest Crossing in June 2014.
While firefighters have been holding the Two Bulls Fire in check, several parks, along with a number of roads and trails west of Bend remained closed, officials said today.
The Deschutes National Forest has closed the area that includes the Phil’s Trail complex and much of the West Bend project area that’s part of the Deschutes Collaborative Forest Project.
Cascade Lakes Highway marks the southern border of the closure area. However, the highway itself remains open.
The closure includes Forest Road 4601 west of Tumalo Creek and roads 4606, 1612, 590, 480, 113, 110, 377, 900, 1620, 1628 and 370 north of Todd Lake.
Closures also remain in place for the following Deschutes County roads:
• Tumalo Reservoir Road, closed to westbound traffic at Rock Springs Road;
• Bull Springs Road, closed to westbound traffic at Johnson Road and
• Skyliners Road, closed to westbound traffic at Forest Road 4604, Phil’s Trailhead.
The Bend Park and Recreation District reports that Shevlin Park and Tillicum Ranch remain closed.
