Shirley joins her most loved husband and partner of more than fifty years, Richard “Dick” Kebler who passed away in 2003.Shirley was born January 9, 1923 to Hobart and Amelia (Sunti) Morris. A “Yooper” growing up in Ishpeming, Michigan during the Depression, Shirley had a zest for life, drive and intelligence that brought her to the University of Michigan where she met Dick. Later in life she returned to school and graduated with a Masters in Social Work and practiced in the Indianapolis school system counseling many children and families.Nicknamed the “Traveler” by friends in Yucca Valley, California and Bend, Oregon, for the last ten years Shirley has had a full schedule traveling to Hawaii, the Cottage with many cross-country road trips with daughter Karen. Shirley loved having brunch and dinner with family and friends. With love, pragmatism and advice that there was always a “Plan B”, Shirley guided her four children who love her dearly. She gave her children long memory-filled summers at Crystal Lake, taught them how to make fruit pies and meat pasties and provided a role model of how to approach life.We will miss her and love her always.
