Prineville Police Chief Eric Bush was dismissed from his post Tuesday, nearly nine months after he was put on paid leave while the city investigated an unspecified personnel matter.
The city announced Bush’s termination in a two-sentence press release that provided no further information as to the basis of the investigation.
A member of the Prineville force since 1990, Bush had served as chief since 2003.
Captain Michael Boyd, who has served as interim chief since Bush was put on leave last September, will continue in his current role while the city conducts a search for a new chief, the release stated.
