Members of the public are invited to an artist’s reception and film screening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, a law that protects nearly 110 million acres of wilderness in the U.S.
The event, called The Art of Wilderness, will feature a showing and talk from landscape photographer Jeffrey Murray, in addition to a film about the legendary photographer Ansel Adams.
Reservations are not required; a donation of $5 per person is suggested. The event will be held the Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic & Recreation Center at 57250 Overlook Road in Sunriver. Photography will be for sale, with proceeds going toward Discover Your Forest, a Bend organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the Deschutes and Ochoco National forests and the Crooked River National Grassland.
