Pair of homers lift Elks over Gems

KLAMATH FALLS — Brock Carpenter led off the eighth inning with a game-tying home run, and Nick Osuna hit a grand slam off Gems reliever Michael Brinska (0-3) later in the inning as the Bend Elks won their third straight, 13-5 on Tuesday night. It was just Osuna’s second homer of the West Cost League season, and Carpenter’s first.

Jesse Pratt (4-0) allowed one hit in 1 2⁄3 relief innings for Bend (22-15). Starter Kevin Hamman was pulled after four innings with the game tied at 4.
