Air rescue on South Sister

A woman descending South Sister Sunday evening was rescued by helicopter after experiencing medical issues, according to a release from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Kathleen Rodosevich, 67, of Prineville, set out to climb the mountain with her husband and another family member Sunday morning. After summiting, Rodosevich began experiencing medical problems about 1 mile above Moraine Lake. Her party called 911 at about 8 p.m. A U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement officer and Deschutes County Search and Rescue volunteers responded, hiking up to the party’s location.
