Boat shooting — Oregon State Police say an 81-year-old property owner is accused of firing his shotgun twice at an aluminum drift boat that two Siuslaw River boaters had pulled from the river at his dock after they experienced boat trouble. Lt. Gregg Hastings says the men rowed to the dock east of Florence and secured their boat on Monday afternoon. One man stayed with the boat while the other went to get their vehicle and trailer. They loaded the boat and were getting ready to leave when the property owner arrived on his boat. They say he told them not to leave, went into his home and returned with a shotgun, firing one shot that penetrated their boat’s hull. Hastings says the men report they started driving off as he was reloading. They say a second round hit the boat’s engine. State police arrested Elden Nordahl for investigation of menacing, reckless endangering, unlawful use of a weapon and pointing a firearm at a person. A shotgun, rifle and ammunition were seized as evidence. Police are looking for additional witnesses.

Nightclub shooting — Police say a 23-year-old man indicted in last November’s fatal shooting of a man outside a northeast Portland nightclub has been arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada. Portland police say Xavier Bolden was arrested Monday on a murder warrant by the Las Vegas Criminal Apprehension Team. Portland Police detectives were in Nevada on Tuesday to continue the investigation. Bolden was booked into the Clark County, Nevada, Detention Center to await extradition to Oregon. A grand jury in Portland has indicted Bolden on one count of murder, additional counts of attempted aggravated murder and related charges in a Nov. 9, 2013, shooting outside the Fontaine Bleau Nightclub. The gunfire killed 30-year-old Durieul Harris and injured two other people. Officers arrived that night to find a crowd of 75-100 people involved in a disturbance and Harris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police say anonymous tips given to Crime Stoppers of Oregon and what police called “a few brave witnesses coming forward” were critical in securing the indictment.

Bomb threat — A 13-year-old middle school student in Baker City has been accused of leaving a bomb threat in a boy’s bathroom. Authorities told the Baker City Herald a search of the school Tuesday morning turned up nothing suspicious. The note was found before classes were due to begin. The staff at Baker Middle School told officers they suspected the 13-year-old, based on his behavior the previous day. The police department said he was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the regional juvenile detention facility in The Dalles.

Cage fight brawl — The manager of a Medford ballpark says cage fighters won’t be invited back after a brawl among fans.Police arrested six adults and a juvenile Saturday night after fighting broke out among about 20 fans at Harry & David Field. One officer described the scene in his report as “mass chaos.” Lt. Mike Budreau said people were punching, kicking, stomping, biting and eye-gouging. One security guard’s face was reported bloodied, and he may have a concussion. Another guard’s eye was gouged. The city owns the field. The Medford Rogues baseball team manages it. Its general manager, Chuck Heeman, tells the Mail Tribune that he’d have considered having the mixed martial arts event annually if it had gone well. But, he says, it didn’t, so it won’t be repeated.
