Storm throw over Franklin

PORTLAND — The Storm stepped off to a comfortable 33-6 halftime lead and pulled away in the second half for a 52-6 nonconference football win Friday night at Franklin High School.

Summit quarterback John Bledsoe keyed the Storm’s attack, completing 21 of 29 passes for 351 yards and four touchdowns.

Bledsoe connected with Cameron McCormick for a 99-yard touchdown play just 23 seconds into the game, and Summit never looked back. McCormick had five receptions for 180 yards in the game.

The Storm (2-0) had 497 yards total offense in the game, including 369 yards passing and 128 running.

Franklin (0-2) scored on a 20-yard pass from Max Hawkins to Ian Pederson in the second quarter.

The Storm defense allowed the Quakers only 232 yards, including 153 yards passing and 79 on the ground.

For the Storm, Kyle Cornett had six receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown, and Sean Kent had one reception for 45 yards and a touchdown and also scored on a 14-yard run. Jason Garcia scored on a 2-yard run, and Thomas Carter scored on a 15-yard run.
