Five from the event will continue on to the Bend Venture Conference in October. The 10 concept-stage companies represent industries in outdoor recreation, bioscience, consumer products, high-tech and agriculture, according to an EDCO press release Wednesday.

A review panel of six experts chose the 10:

1. Beliggle, a service exchange mobile app; 2. Bird Dog Bioventures, a veterinary/human biology startup; 3. Cairn, which introduces outdoor enthusiasts to new brands and products while also collecting market data; 4. Free Range Equipment manufactures light, functional backpacks for athletes; 5. FriendlySniff.com, a “lifestyle aid” that organizes and simplifies a pet owner’s life; 6. KidRunner reinvents running and exploring with kids; 7. Odysys LLC simplifies direct hotel bookings with one platform; 8. Party Gorilla Inc. gives users info on where to go and gives bars the tools to get them there; 9. Ubimodo LLC notifies authorities when things go wrong; and 10. Volcano Veggies LLC grows organic vegetables and fish indoors with proprietary biotechnology solutions.

The PubTalk starts at 5 p.m. with networking; the event begins at 5:45 p.m. Each startup makes a three-minute pitch, followed by a question-and-answer session. The event is expected to fill up. For more information, visit edcoinfo.com and bendvc.com.
