• The Environmental Center is accepting applications for the 2014 Sustainability Awards now through Wednesday. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 13 at the Cascade Culinary Institutes’s Elevation Restaurant. The awards honor local businesses, government agencies, nonprofits and citizens who work to ensure a sustainable future for Central Oregon. Tickets will be available for purchase at www.envirocenter.org starting Oct. 6.

• Two businesses plan to open at the Brookswood Meadow Plaza in Bend before the end of the year. ZenBend , co-owned by Ali McCullough and Stan Whitton, will offer group classes in yoga, martial arts and tai chi. Dr. Ruth Loomis will open Brookswood Animal Clinic.

• Outland Motors celebrated its grand opening Thursday. The boutique car dealership is located at 1177 SE Ninth St. in Bend.
