Worthy hosts Hoptoberfest Saturday

The Sisters Fresh Hop Festival isn’t the only gathering dedicated to fresh-hop beers in Central Oregon this weekend.

On Saturday, Worthy Brewing (495 NE Bellevue Drive, Bend) will host its first Hoptoberfest, featuring fresh-hop beers, the release of Worthy Oktoberfest and German food.

Live music will be provided by 8-year-old fiddle champion CJ Neary, followed by local Americana faves the Moon Mountain Ramblers.

Things will get going around 6 p.m. Worthy is at 495 NE Bellevue Drive in Bend.

Deadlines for Bend Beer Chase

The Bend Beer Chase happens Oct. 11, and it’ll lead relay teams of up to six runners along a 70-mile course around Central Oregon, with stops at local breweries, of course. The course goes from Bend to Redmond to Smith Rock to Sisters to Tumalo and back to Bend. There’s also an event for individuals.

Registration opened Sept. 1 and costs $40 for individuals and $200-$550 for teams, depending on number of members. But those costs run only through Sunday, and increase starting Monday.

Today is also the deadline to provide final team info to race organizers, including name, roster and whatnot.

There’s lots more info about the event at www.bendbeerchase.cascaderelays.com.
