U.S. Highway 26 near Government Camp was closed for three hours Thursday morning, as a result of a crash involving a van and two commercial trucks.
According to an Oregon State Police news release, at around 6:26 a.m., Devin Johnson, 26, of Welches, was stopped on Government Camp Loop Road, attempting to turn left on to the highway. Johnson pulled his van out in front of a westbound commercial truck. The truck swerved to avoid Johnson, clipping Johnson’s van and striking an east-facing truck that was attempting to turn in to the Government Camp rest area.
Traffic passing through the area was routed along the westbound lane and through Government Camp until the collision could be cleared.
Johnson was cited for failure to yield right of way.
