Crook County 43, Madras 14: Crook County rolls past Madras

MADRAS — Four second-quarter touchdowns staked Crook County to a 36-0 lead as the Cowboys rolled to a 43-14 Tri-Valley Conference win over Madras on Thursday night.
Collbran Meeker had 11 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown and added two catches for 60 yards to pace Crook County. Ryder Shinkle caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Blake Bartels, who completed 5 of 9 passes for 165 yards and two scores, and Cole Ovens scored two touchdowns for the Cowboys (2-1 Tri-Valley, 4-2 overall).
Defensively, Parker Lapsley had two interceptions, including one he returned for a 35-yard score. Zach Young added 10 tackles. Crook County travels to Corbett next Friday, while Madras (0-3, 1-6) will play at Molalla.
