Two boys were arrested and cited Thursday by the Redmond Police Department for breaking into and vandalizing the old Evergreen Elementary School building.
Officers recently reviewed surveillance footage of the Sept. 29 break-in and were able to identify two. One of the boys broke a window and entered the building, then opened the door to allow the other to enter.
The building, vacated by the Redmond School District at the end of the 2010 school year, is scheduled to be remodeled to serve as Redmond’s city hall by 2017.
