Alice Amelia (Middleswart) Jones of Redmond, Oregon, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2014 at Angels Aware Adult Foster Care. She was 103.
Alice was born July 1, 1911 in Mosier, Oregon, to Elbert and Isabel (Doble) Middleswart. She grew up in the Hood River Valley, graduating from Parkdale High School in 1927. Shortly thereafter, she went on to teach school in Eastern Oregon, for four years. On May 10, 1933 she married Lawrence Emmit Jones in Hood River, OR.
Alice loved the outdoors and was an avid reader. She was also a long-time member of Eastern Star, since 1948.
Alice leaves behind her two sons, Lawrence Jones of McMinnville, OR and Kenneth Jones of Tenino, WA; a daughter, Ferne Wilde of Redmond, OR; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 52 years, Lawrence Jones; both parents; three sisters, Rita, Sylvia and Clarice, whom she outlived by more than a year.
The family wishes to thank Angels Aware for the care and compassion they provided Alice over the past seven years. You will always be part of our family.
