Deschutes County residents have reported receiving scam emails claiming the recipient is due in court, according to the Deschutes County Circuit Court.

These emails include an attachment purported to be a trial notice. One such email was sent from the address “mail118@accidentlawyers505.com,” contained the subject line “Notice of appearance” and contained a signature from a “Clerk to the Court, Patricia Tailor.”

Should you receive an email similar to this, you should not open it, according to Deschutes County Trial Court Administrator Jeff Hall. If you have received and opened a similar email, it is recommended that you run virus security software on your computer.
