The Sisters Ranger District plans to conduct a 145-acre prescribed burn on Friday about 3 miles west of Sisters, according to the Central Oregon Fire Management Service.

The burn, about 2 miles southwest of U.S. Highway 20, is expected to take a day to complete, and the smoke column is expected to be visible in Sisters.

Area subdivisions and Black Butte Ranch could be smoky, and drivers could encounter smoke on state Highway 242 and Forest Road 1012.
