Local Boy Scouts will be at Ogden Group Camp near Newberry Caldera on Saturday, attempting to contact their fellow Scouts around the world by two-way radio.

The Jamboree-on-the-air is being held with assistance from the High Desert Amateur Radio Group and Deschutes County Amateur Radio Emergency Services.

Participating Scouts will learn how radio can provide a communications lifeline during emergencies or natural disasters, and those who contact another amateur radio operator will receive a patch for their uniform.
