Shoe retailer to open in Bend

Rack Room Shoes, a national retail chain, is scheduled to open a store in Bend on Thursday in the Bend Factory Stores, the shoe store announced Tuesday.

Bend will become Rack Room’s fifth Oregon location. The others are in outlet malls in Lincoln City, Seaside, Woodburn and Troutdale, according to the company’s website .

At the Bend Factory Stores, 61334 S. U.S. Highway 97, Rack Room is located next to Van Heusen, according to the mall’s website .

Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rack Room Shoes has close to 400 stores in 32 states, its website shows. It is owned by The Deichmann Group, a private German shoe company that had 3,500 stores in 24 countries including those in the U.S., according to its website.
