Telescopes at the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver will be available Thursday for people trying to see the solar eclipse, if the weather cooperates.
The observatory will be open from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., according to the observatory at 57245 River Road, Sunriver. There is no charge for viewing, but donations will be accepted.
The skies over Bend should be mostly cloudy Thursday afternoon and there’s a 50 percent chance of rain, said George Perry, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Pendleton. The clouds could block out views of the afternoon eclipse.
“It doesn’t look too promising,” he said.
