Redmond Airport is closed for the night because of icy conditions, according to the city of Redmond.

The runway conditions are below safe operating standards for aircraft, the city said in a news release.

The airfield was open during the day until freezing rain started shortly after 5 p.m. It officially closed at 6 p.m.

The pavement will be re-evaluated at about 7 a.m. Friday.

Passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines for flight information. Airline contact information can be found on the airport’s website www.flyrdm.com.

Those arriving at the airport should be prepared for snow and icy conditions.
