Body found in burning car in Redmond

Redmond police have tentatively identified a body found in a burning car late Friday in Northwest Redmond.

Officers and firefighters with Redmond Fire & Rescue were sent to a vehicle fire near the intersection of Northwest 21st Street and Larch Avenue at around 11 p.m. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered the dead person inside the vehicle.

The cause and manner of death is still being investigated. Anyone who saw a vehicle or person from outside the neighborhood after sunset on Friday is encouraged to contact Redmond Police at 541-693-6911.

The death and fire are under investigation by Redmond Police,

Oregon State Police, Redmond Fire & Rescue, the Deschutes County

District Attorney’s Office and the Deschutes County Medical Examiner’s Office.
