The Shepherd’s House, an organization helping homeless people in Bend, put out a call late Monday for donations of socks and gloves.
“With November’s already low temperatures, our supply of socks and gloves is down to almost nothing,” Curt Floski, executive director at The Shepherd’s House said in a press release.
Wool socks and wool, waterproof gloves can be particularly useful in trying to prevent frostbite, according to the release. Along with socks and gloves, the organization is taking other donations, such as new or gently used sleeping bags, tents and coats. The donations may be dropped off at The Shepherd’s House at 1845 NE Division St., in Bend. Financial donations may be made online at myshepherdshouse.org or sent by mail to P.O. Box 5484, Bend, OR 97708.
