Freezing rain may fall around Central Oregon tonight, prompting warnings about driving conditions.
The National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory this afternoon covering Bend, Redmond, La Pine, Madras, Sunriver and Prineville. The advisory lasts until 4 a.m. Thursday.
Forecasters expect the freezing rain to start tonight and continue overnight, according to the Weather Service. The freezing rain could cover roads with ice, making them hazardous. Sidewalks could also be icy.
The Oregon Department of Transportation advises drivers to delay departures if possible until later in the morning, when temperatures should rise, and allow for extra time driving from one place to another.
