A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports (all times Pacific):

Today

NFL football, Denver at Cincinnati, 5:30 p.m. (ESPN): In the final Monday night game of the year, the AFC West champion Broncos take on a Bengals team still looking to secure its position in the playoffs. Next Sunday, for the only time all season, all 32 teams are in action on the same day as the NFL regular season comes to an end.

Tuesday

NBA basketball, Portland at Oklahoma City, 5 p.m. (CSNNW): The red-hot Trail Blazers wrap up a four-game road trip by facing the resurgent Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena. On the day after Christmas, Portland takes on the Philadelphia 76ers in the first of seven consecutive games at the Moda Center.

Wednesday

College football, Hawaii Bowl, Fresno State vs. Rice, 5 p.m. (ESPN): If sitting around watching a low-profile bowl game on Christmas Eve has you feeling like a loser, take heart — you’ll have company in Fresno State, which brings a 6-7 record into this contest at Aloha Stadium. And don’t fret, the compelling bowl games are just a few days away.

Thursday

NBA basketball, Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat, 2 p.m. (ABC): The showcase contest among five Christmas Day games features the return of LeBron James to Miami to face the Heat for the first time since he left South Florida. Also on the holiday menu: Wizards at Knicks (9 a.m., ESPN); Thunder at Spurs (11:30 a.m., ABC); Lakers at Bulls (5 p.m., TNT); and Warriors at Clippers (7:30 p.m., TNT).

Saturday-Monday

Prep basketball, Les Schwab Oregon Holiday Hoopfest in Bend: The annual three-day prep hoops extravaganza includes 32 boys and girls varsity teams from around Oregon and Washington. Games will be played at Summit High School, the tournament host, as well as at Bend and Mountain View high schools. Championship finals are all scheduled for next Monday at Summit.
