Beavers name offensive coordinator, QBs coach — New Oregon State coach Gary Andersen announced Sunday that he has selected Dave Baldwin as the program’s offensive coordinator and Kevin McGiven as the quarterbacks coach. Baldwin comes to the Beavers from Colorado State, where he was named the interim coach on Dec. 4 and led the Rams in their 45-10 loss to Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl. Colorado State played in two bowl games during Baldwin’s three-year stint as offensive coordinator, and over the last two seasons the Rams compiled an 18-9 record. Baldwin has spent the past 13 seasons as an offensive coordinator, including stints at Cincinnati, Baylor, Michigan State, New Mexico and Utah State, where he worked under Andersen. McGiven spent the last two years as Utah State’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. He was first associated with Andersen with the Aggies in 2009 as the assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach.
