The first meeting of the 2015 season for the Central Oregon Baseball/Softball Officials Association (COBOA/COSOA) is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, in Bend. The meeting is intended for new and prospective umpires and will take place starting at 6:30 p.m. in the library at Mountain View High School, 2755 NE 27th St.

No umpiring experience is required to join COBOA/COSOA; the association will provide training. COBOA/COSOA serves all of Central Oregon and provides officiating for all levels of high school baseball and softball.

On the following Thursday, Feb. 26, also at 6:30 p.m. in the Mountain View High library, all local baseball and softball umpires and coaches are encouraged to attend a session on rules interpretation. Oregon School Activities Association and national federation rules interpretation will be covered.
