Argentinian psychedelic rock band Capsula is taking a trip to Volcanic Theatre Pub on Sunday.

From Buenos Aires, Capusla’s influence was 1970s South American psychedelic rock. They recorded three albums in Argentina and have since settled in Bilbao, Spain.

In 2002 they began recording their first songs in English and touring Europe like crazy. Tours in the U.S., the U.K., Canada and South America are not uncommon either, including performances at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas from 2008 to 2012.

Capsula has been compared to Velvet Underground, The Who, Pink Floyd, the Cramps and the Stooges. Check out their latest album “Solar Secrets” at www.capsulacapsula.com.

They put on quite the live show. After Capsula played Austin Psych Fest 2013, the Austin Chronicle described the group not as a band, but as “a fabulous gilded snake, writhing on a big stage while plying seismic garage rock.”

Capsula; 9 p.m. Sunday, doors at 8 p.m.; $8 plus fees in advance, $10 day of show; Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Dr., Bend; www.volcanictheatrepub.com.
