Nearly 430 walkers and runners participated in the 13th annual Grin & Bear It Run on Saturday in Bend. Robbie Donohue, of Bend, won the male division in the 10-kilometer race in a time of 35 minutes, 33 seconds, while Jay Whitney, also from Bend, won the female division in 45:41. In the 5K race, Merle Nye finished first overall in 18:04, while Anya Katz was the first female finisher at 25:23. Both 5K winners are Bend residents.

Organizers said the event, which also included a 1-mile family fun run, raised nearly $36,000 for Healthy Beginnings, which provides health and developmental screenings to local children.
