The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a man it alleges fled the scene of a dispute Sunday and has an unrelated outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.

Christopher Lee Edlefsen, 27, of Bend was allegedly involved in a dispute in the Deschutes River Woods area Sunday afternoon, but fled before deputies could find him, according to Lt. Paul Garrison. Edlefsen is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, according to Garrison.

Garrison wrote in a news release early Monday that at about 5 p.m. Sunday, a Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the area of Brookswood Boulevard and Baker Road on a report of a dispute involving a car. Upon arrival, the deputy learned the parties involved were in a trailer park on Cheyenne Road. Initial reports indicated a knife had been involved in the dispute, but it was determined that the vehicle owner had actually used a knife to deflate a tire on his own vehicle.

Additional deputies responded to the area to assist with the call. The deputy determined that one of the subjects involved in the dispute was Edlefsen, who had an outstanding statewide felony warrant for his arrest. Edlefsen is on probation for a 2014 conviction of unauthorized use of a vehicle and felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Oregon Judicial Information Network.

Deputies and Oregon State Police conducted a search of nearby roads in an unsuccessful attempt to locate Edlefsen. It is believed Edlefsen fled south from the trailer park. Additional witnesses placed Edlefsen on Navajo Road where he stopped and asked to use a phone.

Those with information relevant to the investigation are asked to call Deschutes County 911 non-emergency line at 541-693-6911.
