Storm boys win at Pronghorn Club

Four Summit golfers shot 79 or better Monday to lead the Storm to 311 points and a victory at the seven-team boys Mountain View Tournament at the Pronghorn Club’s Nicklaus Course.
Jack Loberg carded a 2-over-par 74 to pace the Storm, while Cooper Donahue, Ben Wasserman and Cole Chrisman each recorded a 79 to tie for second in the 31-golfer field.
Bend, which was second with 329 points, was led by Max McGee’s fifth-place score of 80. Ryan DeCastilhos tied for sixth with an 81.
Mason Krieger posted an 81 for Mountain View, and Ridgeview’s Johnny Spinelli logged an 84 to place 11th. Crook County’s Mason Tibbs finished with an 82 to finish in the top 10, La Pine’s Isiah Dolan recorded an 83, and Redmond’s Jordan Christiansen carded a 90.

Storm top invite: Madison Odiorne shot an even-par 72 to top the field at Bend Golf & Country Club and lead Summit to a victory at the Bend Invitational. Rachel Drgasin (77) and Sarah Heinly (82) finished 2-3 for the Storm, who posted a score of 316 to defeat runner-up Bend by 56 strokes. The Lava Bears’ Holly Froelich was fifth with an 84, and Maddy Mode tied for ninth with a 92. Ridgeview’s Tianna Brown carded an 83 to take fourth, Trinity Lutheran’s Victoria Sample recorded an 87, and Mountain View’s Shelby Tiller was eighth with a 91.
Softball
Ridgeview 11, Summit 1: Rachel Collins allowed three hits and accounted for three of the Ravens’ hits in an Intermountain Conference opener. Sara McKinney hit a double and a triple and scored three runs for Ridgeview (1-0, 7-1), while Hannah George also scored three runs. Shawna Marshall had two hits and scored two runs for the Ravens. Morgan Watts drove in the lone run for the Storm (0-1, 5-4).
Mountain View 10, Redmond 8: REDMOND — Mountain View scored three runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed in the Intermountain Conference opener for both teams. Jamie Withrow two hits and four RBIs to lead the visiting Cougars (1-0 IMC, 4-5 overall). Ivy Vann and Savannah Phillips also had two hits for the winners. Redmond was led by Hailey Ross, whose three hits included a solo home run. Jeaneva Senko, Jasmyn Reese and Madison Edwards had two hits apiece for the Panthers (0-1, 2-7), and Edwards had three RBIs. Redmond reliever Kaila Fierstos struck out eight in five innings.
Crook County 8, Molalla 1: PRINEVILLE — Mckuenzie McCormick tossed a four-hitter and struck out 10 as Crook County won its Tri-Valley Conference opener. Karlee Hollis had three hits, Taylor Hilderbrand had two, and each hit a double to lead a 10-hit attack for the Cowgirls (1-0 TVC, 6-4 overall).
Sutherlin 9, Sisters 7: SUTHERLIN — The Outlaws dropped their Sky-Em League opener to slip to 2-8 overall.
Baseball
Redmond 10, Mountain View 4: REDMOND — In their first home game of the season, the Panthers scored four runs in the first inning of the Intermountain Conference opener for both teams. Hayden Smith hit two doubles and joined Colton Slavey with three hits apiece for Redmond (1-0 IMC, 5-3 overall), and Cooger Smith added two hits for the Panthers. Dautlon Graham was the winning pitcher, allowing one earned run over 61⁄3 innings. Koltin Ramsay had two hits to lead the Cougars (0-1, 3-4).
Sisters 17, Sutherlin 1: SISTERS — Justin Harrer hit two home runs and two doubles and drove in five runs as Class 4A third-ranked Sisters rolled in five innings in its Sky-Em League opener. In addition to being the winning pitcher, freshman Zach Morgan belted a three-run homer and batted in five runs. Cody Kreminski added a double, a single and three RBIs for the Outlaws (1-0 Sky-Em, 8-1 overall).
Molalla 3, Crook County 1: MOLALLA — Chase McCall drove in the lone run for the Cowboys, who dropped their Tri-Valley Conference. Spencer Copeland doubled and scored in the first inning for Crook County (0-1 TVC, 6-2 overall). In the fourth inning, the game was suspended due to rain. Cowboys coach Frank Martinez said the game may be resumed Thursday before the previously scheduled game between the two teams.
Madras 14, Corbett 4: MADRAS — Austin Rauschenburg led the White Buffaloes with two hits and three RBIs in both teams’ Tri-Valley Conference opener. Bryce Rehwinkel scored four times for Madras (1-0 TVC, 4-5 overall) and had two hits and two walks.
Girls tennis
North Marion 5, Madras 3: AURORA — Jessica Gonzalez booked a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, but the White Buffaloes dropped a Class 4A/3A/2A/1A Special District 2 matchup.
Boys tennis
North Marion 5, Madras 3: MADRAS — Joseph Calica and Omar Dominguez both won their singles matches in straight sets while the tandem of Obie Eriza and Jered Pichette got the only doubles win for the White Buffaloes.
Estacada 6, Crook County 2: PRINEVILLE — Cayden Quinn won at No. 1 singles, and Jack Stubblefield and Garret Harper won at No. 1 doubles, but the short-handed Cowboys forfeited three matches.
