Karen Kingston Price, 49, of Bend, OR, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Hospice House of Bend, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born to the late Patricia Rack Kingston Meyer and James Kingston, on October 23, 1965, in Milwaukee, WI. Karen graduated from Greenville HS in Greenville, NY, and received her license in Electrology.
She married Paul Price of Candia, NH, on April 13, 1998, and they lived together in La Quinta, CA, Wolfeboro, NH, and most recently in Bend, OR.
Karen was a strong advocate for autism and had a shop “Bridles and Britches” in Tumalo, OR, to help raise awareness for autism and naturopathic healing. Most recently she worked for Dr. Bonnie Skakel of Three Sisters Natural Health and she also was a large proponent of essential oils for healing. Karens greatest passion in life was her horses and dressage.
Karen is survived by four children, Nicole Mistler, and her daughter, Paytin of Bend, Danielle Mistler, (USCG) stationed in Alexandria VA, Paris, and Evan Price, her husband, Paul Price of Bend; step-mother, Sally Kingston; and brother, Charles Kingston of HI.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center: PO Box 5593, Bend, OR 97708.
Karen’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 11, at 1:00 p.m., at the RandB Horse Ranch 16400 Jordan Rd., Sisters, Oregon.
There will be a reception directly following the celebration. Casual attire is recommended, as you will be in a horse arena, and for the ladies you might think about shoe choices as you will be walking on dirt footing in the arena.
