M.H. Abrams, 102: Esteemed critic, teacher and tastemaker who was founding editor of the Norton Anthology of English Literature and who wrote one of the 20th century’s most acclaimed works of criticism. Died Tuesday in Ithaca, New York.
Frederic Morton, 90: Man who left Austria as a boy as his family fled from the Nazis and made a celebrated literary career in the United States. Died Monday in Vienna.
