An all-terrain vehicle crash injured a 29-year-old man in La Pine early Monday.

At 12:58 a.m. May 4, an ATV crash on Boundary Road in La Pine was reported to Deschutes County 911. The man involved, Ryan Wade Chytka, 29, was driving a four-wheeler when he was struck by a deer crossing the road. He lost control of the vehicle and was injured, but was able to return home where he was met by Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies and the La Pine Fire Department.

The sheriff’s office found Chytka was not wearing a helmet in the crash. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Chytka was taken to St. Charles Bend by ambulance where he is in stable condition.

Alcohol was determined not to be a cause of the crash, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, and no citations were issued.
