To think Steve Hodges nearly took Zach Morgan out of the game.

After the sixth inning, Hodges decided it was time to make a pitching change. The Sisters baseball coach, however, turned to Morgan’s father and wondered if Morgan, the starter, had yet to allow a hit. He had not, Hodges was assured, and Morgan returned to the mound in the seventh to retire the side, capping a no-hitter and sealing the Outlaws’ 8-1 Sky-Em League win over Elmira on Friday.

Morgan struck out just one batter for No. 2 Sisters (11-2 Sky-Em, 18-3 overall), but the Outlaws’ defense was nearly impenetrable, as only one error resulted in Elmira’s run.

Cody Kreminski went 3-for-3 with two doubles to pace Sisters, Ben Larson had three hits and Odin Thorson chipped in with two hits.
