The Oregon Department of State Lands wants to sell 40 acres of state-owned land in southern Deschutes County to the U.S. Forest Service, according to a notice from the state agency.
Located roughly 20 miles east of La Pine and just north of the Lake County border, the parcel is completely surrounded by Forest Service land, according to the notice. The only nearby roads are unpaved Forest Service roads.
Staff from the state agency would like an OK from the State Land Board to continue the sale process, possibly at the board’s June 9 meeting, according to the notice.
The Department of State Lands will accept comments about the proposed sale until May 22, according to the notice. Comments may be sent to: realproperty@dsl.state.or.us, or Oregon Department of State Lands, Real Property Program-Public Comments, 775 Summer St. NE, Suite 100, Salem, OR 97301.
