Prep baseball, Class 5A state semifinal, Summit vs. Liberty in Hillsboro, 4:30 p.m.: Summit is the last Central Oregon team standing in the state playoffs, and the No. 4-seeded Storm take a 24-3 record into a showdown at Liberty High against the No. 1-seeded Falcons, who boast a 25-2 record. The winner advances to the 5A championship game Saturday at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.

Thursday

Basketball, NBA Finals Game 1, Cleveland at Golden State, 6 p.m. (ABC): In a best-of-seven series rich in storylines, LeBron James tries to take the Cavaliers to their first NBA title, while MVP Stephen Curry has the Warriors in the Finals for the first time since they won it all 40 years ago.

Friday

Baseball, Corvallis Knights at Bend Elks, 6:35 p.m.: Central Oregon’s popular summer collegiate baseball team opens its 16th season with a West Coast League game against the South Division rival Knights at Vince Genna Stadium. Saturday

Horse racing, Belmont Stakes in Elmont, New York, 1:30 p.m. (NBC): All eyes will be on American Pharoah at the 11/2-mile Belmont Park track as he attempts to become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown. Post time is approximately 3:32 p.m.

Sunday

Running, Heaven Can Wait 5K in Bend, 9 a.m.: Staged each year on National Cancer Survivors Day, the St. Charles Foundation-sponsored event draws hundreds of runners and walkers to Drake Park to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
