Deaths of note from around the world:
Charles Kennedy, 55: Former leader of the Liberal Democrats in Britain whose career was marked by success and tragedy. Found dead Monday at his home in Scotland.
Jim Bailey, 77: Singer-actor who transformed himself into such show biz legends as Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Peggy Lee during a career that spanned decades. Died Saturday in Los Angles of complications from pneumonia.
Tanith Lee, 67: Author who couldn’t read until she was 8 but started writing when she was 9 and went on to compose more than 90 science fiction, fantasy and horror novels. Died May 24 at her home in East Sussex, England.
