After leading Sisters to the Sky-Em League title and a No. 2 seed in the Class 4A state playoffs, Outlaws senior Justin Harrer was named the 4A baseball player of the year — the second Sisters player to earn the honor in the past three years.

Harrer, who, like 2013 player of the year and current Washington Huskies catcher Joey Morgan, expects to play in the Pac-12 next season, was named to the 4A first team as an infielder. The Washington State commit was joined on the all-state lists by Sisters teammates Zach Morgan, a second-team pitcher, and Ryan Funk, a third-team catcher.

Madras’ Bryce Rehwinkel was named to the second team as a first baseman, and Crook County pitcher Orlan Wilson and Sisters infielder Jonathan Luz both received honorable mention. Scappoose’s Robert Medley was voted 4A coach of the year.

Madras outfielder Keely Brown was named to the 4A all-state softball first team, and Crook County’s Mckuenzie McCormick was selected as a third-team pitcher. Banks’ MaKenna Partain was voted the player of the year for the second time in three years, and for the second straight season, McLoughlin’s Colette Robert and Nicole Christian were named the pitcher and coach of the year, respectively.
