1. Find some water. Seriously, drink water. Lots.
2. Find some water, Part II. Paddle, swim the open waters, boat, ski, paddleboard, fish, snorkel, hit the pool. Seriously, what CAN’T you do here?
3. Go to Goody’s. Take a tour, eat a treat.
4. Go underground. Explore a cave, where temps get downright chilly.
5. Find some free A/C. Movies, stores, restaurants, coffee shops. You’ll like the temperatures and ice-cold beverages, and they’ll like your business.
6. Visit your local splashpark or other water attraction.
7. Seek higher ground. Just in time for record-breaking temps, Mt. Bachelor’s chairlift opens today for midmountain fun. www.mtbachelor.com/site/summer/activities/chairlift_rides
8. Find the shade. Even here in the wide-open High Desert, there are some oases, such as Drake Park.
9. And in the evening, take advantage of the fact that it’s finally comfortable outside, neither freezing nor sweltering. Is there any better time to hit an Elks game or the Crook County Rodeo?
