Fatal crash — Authorities in Douglas County say a 13-year-old girl has died after her intoxicated father crashed the car she was riding in into a tree. The Douglas County Sheriff’s says Sophia Emma Rose Pena of Days Creek died Friday evening after her father left the roadway and struck a tree on the passenger side of the vehicle. The father, 55-year-old Paul Anthony Pena, was arrested and booked into the county jail on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and criminally negligent homicide.

Fatal rollover — Authorities say alcohol consumption is suspected to be a factor in a rollover crash that killed an Idaho man in eastern Oregon. Oregon State Police says the crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Interstate 84 near the community of Durkee in Baker County.

Fatal plane crash — Salem police say a plane has crashed on the grounds of the Salem Airport, killing one. Witnesses reported that a small plane was attempting to take off when it crashed north of the runway and burst into flames.
