Heinly misses qualifying for U.S. Amateur — Bend amateur Jesse Heinly shot 4-over-par 148 and missed qualifying for the U.S. Amateur by five shots last Monday at Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver, Washington. Heinly finished tied for 14th place out of 81 players who were competing for just three spots in the country’s national amateur championship. Chris Babcock and Kyle Cornett, both from Washington, and Tigard’s Arthur Kim earned the spots from the Royal Oaks qualifier.

GolfBoard announces promotions deal — Bend-based GolfBoard announced last week that it has selected Washington, D.C.-based Buffalo Brand Invigoration Group to implement a brand communications and public relations program. Buffalo will provide brand messages and themes, secure national and regional publicity within golf and increase awareness and support sales to courses, clubs, resorts and individuals.
