After spending the last 2 1/2 years touring Europe on and off, Portland’s Loch Lomond are back home. The indie band kicked off the year by touring the West Coast with Glasgow, Scotland, duo the Vaselines, and are looking to tour more extensively at the end of the year.

For now, the band — which grew out of what was essentially Bend native Ritchie Young’s solo project in 2003 — is looking forward to debuting new material at an intimate homecoming show Saturday at Crow’s Feet Commons. According to Young, the band will release its sixth album, “Pens From Spain,” early next year.

Fans will notice the band is down one Bendite from the last time it played here. Longtime guitarist Dave Depper recently exited the band to tour with Death Cab For Cutie — he was at the Les Schwab Amphitheater for the band’s show there earlier this month.

Otherwise, Young and his rotating cast of bandmates will tackle what they do best — ethereal, melodic pop underpinned with orchestral elements and Young’s fragile, wide-eyed vocals.
