As if winning the West Coast League championship were not enough, two Bend Elks players have been named summer collegiate all-Americans by the amateur baseball scouting service Perfect Game.
Infielders Tyler Davis, from Northwest Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho, and Cadyn Grenier, from Oregon State, were both selected to the third team, two of 40 position players and 32 pitchers nationwide named all-Americans on Wednesday. Davis’ 25 doubles this summer were most among the position players, while Grenier’s total of 45 runs scored ranked sixth.
Four players from the West Coast League were named all-Americans, including first-team selection Keston Hiura from the Wenatchee AppleSox and second-team selection Justin Flores from the Kelowna Falcons.
