1932 ~ 2015

Fayne passed away after a blessed evening with family on Thanksgiving evening November 26, 2015. He was born in Portland, Oregon, on April 7, 1932, but was raised in Ione, Oregon, until college. In his younger years, he fought his way back from polio to play varsity basketball and football.

Fayne attended the University of Oregon and Pacific University. He married Gail and they had three sons and later divorced. He worked as a large retail chain store manager.

Fayne married Velva in the early 1970s. Velva had three teenage daughters. Added to Fayne’s three boys, there were six teenagers growing up together.

In the early 1980s, Fayne and Velva moved to Central Oregon, where they owned and operated three different businesses: a catalog order store, a clothing store, and an appliance store.

Fayne was an avid sportsman, hunter, and fisherman. In 2004, after Velva died, Fayne spent his next few years traveling. In 2012 he moved to Cornelius, where he spent much of his time gardening and watching sports. He also enjoyed following and conversing with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his sister, 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, cousins, and multiple great-nieces/nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at Forest Grove Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 4 at 11 am. A short gathering will be held in Terrebonne at Pioneer Cemetery on Saturday, December 5 at 2 p.m.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org, in his memory.
