Silver Moon Brewing has a doozy of a show coming up Saturday, with three of the local scene’s best hard rock groups sharing the stage.
We’ll start with Strange Rover, recently seen pummeling the audience at Volcanic Theatre Pub at the November local music showcase. Drummer (and birthday boy) Paterson Colson, whose powerful stick work provides the backbone of the band’s glacial heaviness, will be the man of the hour Saturday. And as we all know, doom metal makes for the best birthday soundtrack.
Strange Rover will share the stage with LAMP, a funk-rocking, riff-spewing power trio fronted by powerhouse vocalist and bassist Stephanie Slade. Slade’s singing with Tiny Humans was a highlight of the Make-A-Band showcase at the Tower Theatre last month; now come see what she can do with her main project.
Last but certainly not least, Stereo Treason will bring its brand of operatic yet catchy hard rock to the stage. The band is roaring back to life after lying low during Make-A-Band (Treason Sound Studio, run by guitarists Steven James Whitney and Red Rogers, was one of the producers in the event). Judging by the band’s ripping performance at the cancer benefit for freelance photographer Rick Ham last weekend, we can expect a ferocious performance.
